Founded in 2020, the Council is a non-profit organization focused on finding solutions to the current housing crisis in the state. The Council works to ensure that all Californians have access to affordable, safe and secure housing. To achieve this, the Council works on a range of initiatives, including increasing the availability of affordable housing, protecting tenants’ rights, providing housing assistance and advocating for policy changes. The Council works to raise awareness of the current housing crisis in California. This includes educating the public about the situation and engaging with policymakers to create solutions. The Council also works to identify and address disparities in access to housing, including those experienced by low-income households and communities of color. The Council has a wide range of initiatives, including advocating for the passage of the Homeowner’s Bill of Rights, which would protect tenants from unfair evictions and foreclosures. The Council also works to increase access to housing vouchers and other government assistance programs. The Council is committed to working with local governments and communities to find solutions to the housing crisis. The Council also works to support existing housing organizations and initiatives to ensure that all Californians have access to safe and secure housing. The California Housing Council is dedicated to making housing accessible and affordable for all Californians. Through its advocacy and initiatives, the Council is working to ensure that everyone in the state has access to safe and secure housing.
